Football Club Ground Barriers

Low-cost football pitch crowd barrier post and rail systems are available in high impact plastics and steel. Recent deaths of footballers from old concrete and steel rail systems have seen a move to safer barriers at football grounds and grants have become available from the Football Foundation to remove dangerous pitch side barriers. High impact safe plastic barriers with strong infill panels are now available for clubs that want to ensure spectators do not encroach onto the playing surface. The low-cost post and rail system we can supply utilizes 68mm high impact PVC posts with strengthened push button “T” connectors.  The plastic posts are extremely robust and are much safer for players than steel barriers. These systems are ideal when clubs are entering the football pyramid after promotion and can be permanent or removable.
A safe spiked anchored version is also available to secure the PVC posts where cricket squares are adjacent to the main pitch and need to be removed in the close season without damaging the playing surface. The posts and rails can also be easily strengthened if required to take extra load in areas where more spectators congregate.

Spectator Barrier - with ground sockets

The plastic spectator barrier can be removed at the close of the season to help grass cutting and pitch maintenance if required or it can be left in permanently. The rails are 2.4 meters wide and light weight banners or boards can be used between posts for advertising. A robust system that is safer for players. Maintenance free with no painting just a wash down occasionally. The posts are supported in plastic rust free ground sockets that cannot damage grass cutting equipment and allow easy alignment and leveling.

These are easy to install as they require no digging and can be re-positioned as the posts sit on ground spikes Click here to download the Spectator barrier information.

Spectator Crowd Barrier – with infill panels
If spectator barriers are required at higher football pyramid teams the PVC infill system is a great option to prevent encroachment. The posts are concreted directly into the ground to give stability and are solid posts with slots for the individual planks to slide into. The planks come 300mm and 150mm deep and three large planks and one small plank together is the required height. The posts are maintenance free only needing an occasional wash down with hot soapy water. A sturdy system when installed that is designed to take lightweight removable signage. Special corner posts give a neat corner intersection and Gates for players, ambulances and grass cutting equipment can be easily made to suit distinct locations. This system is more expensive than a basic post & rail but looks fantastic when installed around a football pitch.

Spectator Barriers – Steel
Steel spectator crowd barriers are normally used when larger crowds are expected.  They come in 48mm and 60mm tube which and can be painted or supplied in a galvanized finish.  Panelling can be fixed between the posts if required that enable advertising boards to be attached.  The steel barriers also use “T” connectors and are secured to rails by special screws. They posts are normally concreted straight into the ground and cannot be removed once installed.

Plastic Respect Spectator Barrier
For Junior clubs we have portable respect barriers that are quick and easy to install on match days. Much better than the Far East plastic systems that do not last. The chain link version is recommended. Invest in the best.
